Stop the Killing
Personal Work
1997
This is a little grassroots project that I did. It was sparked by an article that appeared in The New York Times. It stated that Minneapolis, MN had the highest murder rate per capita in the country. I lived in Minneapolis and had not even heard of this. It was never mentioned on the news or in the local newspapers. I decided to create a series of posters to make the public aware of this. I posted over 1,000 posters around the city and soon found that they were being pulled down as fast as I could put them up. It turned out that people were collecting them and taking them home.
